but expect that this will be significantly
higher as we enter more broadly into
the market. At one time, when I started
this business, that would have appeared
to be a successful outcome but what I
have learned is that success is a feeling,
not a future event. Waking each day and
knowing that you are doing what you
love, is success.
Having a business has come down to a
few guiding principles that have got me
through the tough times and I will leave
you with them:
• The first is that business is hard, so get
used to it.
• Understand why you are in it, what is
the purpose.
• Develop a daily ritual that defines
what you really want.
Paul Lyons is a Director at Ecocentric Energy Group, a company
that creates and conceives next-generation technologies to
revolutionise our energy ecosystem. Paul is also the Director,

In previous years, Paul worked as tour manager in the music
industry to some of the world’s leading artists, including Red
