No one knew what this event would be like. Now that it’s over, the only word to describe the experience is – SPECTACULAR! LEAD had the honor and distinction of being recognized as a Community Beacon for this year’s benefit. We send a heartfelt ‘THANK YOU’ to Dan Cathy, Rodney Bullard, Carol Waddy and the many sponsors, coordinators and volunteers who made this event so special. Steve Harvey kept us rollin’ with laughter while Bruno Mars helped us dance the night away.

THE BELOVED BENEFIT

Check out these Ambassador reflections from that spectacular evening:

LEAD Ambassador Le’Mon Logan, Douglass HS:

“It felt good to be selected out of all the Ambassadors to go to this event. That let’s me know Coach CJ and Coach Kelli see something in me. It was a great opportunity to be exposed to something new. Getting to meet new people, people who are successful was a great experience. Seeing how other people were overcoming the bad things they were going through in life and how Black and White people need to come together as one was very inspiring.”

LEAD Ambassador Justin Riddle, Douglass HS:

“My experience at the Beloved Benefit was the best. It was amazing to get selected! I had a good time with my coaches and teammates. As soon as we stepped foot in the Mercedes-Benz stadium until the event was over, I felt famous. It felt good and I felt important having a lot of people walking up to us and noticing us as The Ambassadors. I think it’s a great thing that Chick-fil-A supports The LEAD Ambassadors.”
