Women in the generation y in particular go for what they want professionally and in terms of well-being . Most of the methods in doing so are through online connections - the internet. Would you agree that online publications are scoring better than printed?

Through connections and networking, it is amazing how passionate women are able to come together to create their passion. Yes, online publications are the way to go.

Who was the person who most influenced you, and how?

I don't have a partciular mentor but I discuss my ideas with my husband. I am driven by what I believe in.

What is your favourite thing about your work for Le Petit Journal Melbourne?

The diversity of it. I love it. To bring people news that they need, sharing them online and meeting interesting, talented people for the news. I teach at Melbourne University and am always fascinated by various talents.

What is French style to you?

It is the perfect alignment of the lines and colours of the outfit, the beautiful lingerie a woman wears and the style that one carries. I will never wear a tracksuit!

What do you love about working and living in Melbourne?

The open spaces, the sublime beaches, you can be your own self here. You don't necessarily have to be the classical French and the cafes are great.

Sophie Benardeau Short , the director of online French newspaper, Le Petit Journal Melbourne represents one of the many modern French women living in Melbourne. An honest, funny and stylish lady, she shares her opinions on her job, living as an expat in Melbourne and in her French ways, shares a cup of coffee with me at Ganache Chocolate cafe on high society district of Toorak Road.
