INTERVIEW

Please describe your greatest strengths as a beauty therapist.

Drawing from my 16 years' experience, I soon worked out how vulnerable people can be and the level of reassurance you can give them. You learn not to judge in this industry. Getting your kit off for a stranger can be quite confronting for most people. I am comfortable with people's bodies and making them feel safe and secure with me, is one of my key strengths.

Why did you choose a career in beauty therapy?

I was always drawn to the allure of the 'old school glamour' of beauty therapy especially coming from my French background.

How does this help people in their well being?

Everyone has something beautiful about them, but you’ll be surprised how unsure people are about themselves. I break the ice and make sure they feel perfectly normal. Doing something as simple as a lip wax or eyelash tint to enhance the eyes, can make someone’s day.

What are the main duties and responsibilities in beauty therapist jobs?

We are expected to be well groomed, knowledgeable within our area of expertise. A

good therapist should be open, friendly, inviting and re-assuring.

How do you keep up to date with the latest trends in the skin care industry?

Everything from gossip mags, beauty blogs, industry mags are key to the latest trends.
