Issue 2 | The Lanzarote Grapevine 2014 Enjoying a Flavour of Spain Around Puerto Del Carmen The British are by far the largest tourist market in Puerto del Carmen and there are bars and restaurants which cater for the British palate. However, if you wish to have a more Spanish experience, I would recommend the places below. One other factor which separates the places that follow from many other outlets in Puerto del Carmen is that you will not be harangued by so-called “PRs” offering you cheap beer, an excellent table and the other blandishments that some people use to try to incentivise people to eat in their establishments. A walk along Avenida de las Playas Café La Ola/ Dreams Note: the author has received no incentives or “freebies” for any of the places mentioned in this article. They are simply personal recommendations which I hope that you will enjoy. AS These two cafes are owned by the same group and are next door to each other, on Avenida de Las Playas, next to the Casino. Both outlets are on the water’s edge and offers a wide variety of food (in Dreams, there is a more Moroccan flavour to the menu). La Ola has a full service restaurant on the upper level and a more casual menu on the large terrace overlooking the sea, as well as a swimming pool.
