The garden landscape is completed by the shed workshop and its bed of plants in front of it, including the Cercis Canadensis ‘Hearts of Gold’ tree, Penstemon Heavenly Blue, Verbena Rigida and Cineraria. The riven and undulating texture of the Old Rectory Sandstone establishes a rustic feel to the garden, accomplishing a timeless landscape. The warm tone of colours throughout the garden complement each other, from the plants to the wooden furniture and workshop shed. Though new paving was laid for this project, the existing landscape already included Global Stone Old Rectory paving in York Green in place from over 12 years ago. After pressurised cleaning and repointing, the paving looks brand new which shows that, with maintenance and care, the Old Rectory is a timeless paving that adjusts with the times and is always in fashion. The clients said of the landscape and work involved: ‘The standard of work was so high. The upheaval of such a project might have felt overwhelming were it not for the confidence we were able to have in Archley Landscape Designs and the others, and the great sense of humour that they breathed through it all. We are delighted with the end product and we both think it is out of this world.’ Good teamwork and an excellent product resulted in a landscape filled with character, space, colour and, above all, a timeless and classical Suffolk garden.
