INNOVATION STATION

SWITCH ON TO THE ECO-FRIENDLY AGGREGATE , AND WATCH OLD TV SCREENS TURN YOUR LANDSCAPES GREEN

The Sky Garden sits on the very top three floors of the 37-storey

20 Fenchurch Street building in the City of London . Designed by Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly and affectionately known locally as the Walkie-Talkie because of its distinctive shape , the building is 160m ( 525 feet ) tall , making it the fifth tallest completed building in the City of London .
We worked with Willerby Landscapes on this challenging site to deliver over 300 tonnes of our bespoke Intensive lightweight planting topsoil and BS8601:2013 subsoil to the 34th floor , over 155 metres into the London skyline . Each tonne was lifted meticulously into position by crane using our multi-trip bulk bags , taking 30 minutes from ground to the 34th floor .
It stands as London highest public garden and is home to award winning restaurants , terraces and bars equipped with breath taking views over London . Both Willerby Landscapes and Bourne Amenity love a challenge so this project was perfect for show casing the strengths of the customer supplier relationship .
With the London landscape evolving daily , we are seeing more and more adventurous undertakings throughout our client portfolio . With depots close to London and a FORS Gold fleet , we are perfectly placed to service this challenging environment , and deliver our premium quality materials into the heart of the urban landscape .

T his year sees the launch of one of the cleanest , greenest and most original products ever to hit the landscaping market : Glasglo , a durable aggregate made entirely from recycled TV screens . It ’ s the brainchild of Restructa , a leading waste management company based in Scotland who specialise in recycling TVs , computers and other WEEE equipment .

Determined to find a use for old television panels , they devised a unique process and ingenious design to create the striking and versatile Glasglo product . It ’ s already proving hugely popular for private gardens and public places , with driveways , edgings and roundabouts just some of the outdoor spaces now transformed by the smooth and transparent glass pieces .
Part of Glasglo ’ s appeal is undoubtedly aesthetic – it glistens in the rain , shimmers in the sun and looks absolutely stunning when illuminated with clear or coloured lighting . However , it ’ s also Glasglo ’ s quirkiness and eco-friendly nature that ’ s capturing the imagination - and easing the conscience - of homeowners , contractors and local authorities across the country .
Glasglo is extremely pure and Restructa ensure no leftovers are sent to landfill - good news for both local wildlife and the wider environment . Glasglo is also completely safe for humans to handle - no sharp edges , just smooth pieces of glass that bring a bit of style and vintage charm to your landscapes .
From parks and gardens , ponds and artificial lakes , new estates and urban design features , Glasglo can even be used as a substrate around statues or as a topping in cemeteries . Available also in a powder format , it ’ s useful for the construction industry too as a sharp sand , drain fill , sub-base or epoxy resin .
Glasglo is readily available in various quantities and packed in pre-weighed bags up to one tonne . Restructa also offer free kerbside delivery throughout central Scotland , with delivery charges available on request for other areas throughout the UK .
NB : ( Please use plastic spades when distributing the product to prevent sharp edges arising ).
