CONTEMPORARY ART REVIEW
Jeremiah Douglas Stroud
issue of audience reception as being a crucial component of your decisionmaking process , in terms of what type of language is used in a particular context ?
Ultimately , I think it is more important for me than an audience . However , I don ' t think there is a large gap between the viewership and myself . I try to distance myself from my work , which enables me to become a viewer . The language I use is as honest as I can be . Blatant and confrontational . It allows so much room for viewers to evaulate what is experiencial to them . When making decisions about my work , I do not base it on audience reception . My decisions come from my evolution and understanding of politics and its effect on me .
Thanks a lot for your time and for sharing your thoughts , Jeremiah . Finally , would you like to tell us readers something about your future projects ? How do you see your work evolving ?
It is difficult to foresee the future and have a certainty of what will be made . Making work based off my personal story and contemporary politics makes for an everchanging body of work . I would tell the viewers to keep theirselves updated on my work and they will see how I evolve overtime .
