CONTEMPORARY ART REVIEW
distinguish what is happening in the piece or who is in the piece , there is always some sort of catch I find as the artist who has created it ; as they will never really know the full extent of the truth as to what or why you have portrayed what you have in the artwork . This strong sense of uncertainty and mystery goes hand in hand with the connotation and essence of this series . I want the viewers to engage in their own mystical , spiritual worlds and delineate my artwork in a very own concealed world for themselves and for themselves only . I want the viewers to find their inner joys and wonders , shower in their treasured festivities , and question superstition , fable , and legend ; just be very careful … as you may lose yourself along the way .
I like to speak in a language and context that speaks to many different ethnicities and cultural backgrounds . I like to shed light on tales from the past that have been heard by so many , and like a fable shedding both happiness and sorrow . I want to see the gooseflesh perching your arms and eerie shivers creep up your spine . I want you to listen in on every piece as it whispers to you an ancient tale . Take a walk in the dark forest , walk alone in the light of the stars , look up at the pale light of the moon , bow your head as you walk in the graveyard at twilight and don ’ t ever be afraid to let in the whispering voices of the cold winter wind . Be one with the spirits of the earth . I want you , to let your imagination lead the way ...
Yes , this is a concept and consideration that is crucial and very dear to my heart . I think that it is very important to attempt to bring in and engage audiences of all backgrounds . As an audience of any exhibit , our hearts beat as one . Whether or not the subject matter or meaning of your artwork is absolutely clear , have the rest of the world decide that for themselves as that is the purest form of creativity and mindfulness in my opinion . I am always looking at different ways to have the audience explore further in depth their beliefs and uncertainties ; this can be very exciting at times . It is not necessarily imposed as a question of faith , but a radical of thought , exploration , evaluation , and philosophical thinking .
As of now I am actually currently working on a couple exhibition series that are both being done in the pencil and charcoal medium . One is in memorial of my late loving Grandfather whom I shared many things in common with , particularly the thematic approach of this first series . The second series is much like my Mysticism Series Exhibition ; however the works will be drawn instead . I am still not past the stage where I am sanctioned to give chronicle and explore the realms of ancient history and its darkness and light .
May I just take this last opportunity to thank the LandEscape Team and all of its avid followers and readers for this truly wonderful opportunity ! I also want to thank my extended family from my grandparents to my beautiful brother and sister but especially my wonderful parents whom have always supported my desire and passion to work in the visual arts ; no son could have ever asked for better parents . Lastly and intimately I want to thank God for whom without in his holy light , none of this would have ever been possible .
