Sailing
Lake Forest Sailing is one of the best sailing programs in the country and a phenomenal city resource.
Sailing is a lifelong sport the entire family can enjoy. When a young person gains control of their own vessel
in the waters of Lake Michigan, they gain an exciting confidence that will only grow. All of our instructors are
U.S. Sailing certified and trained in safety and instruction. As you look through our offerings, please do not

OPTIMIST RACE TEAM (8-14Y)
Get a head start on the rest of the Midwest by training in the spring! We will refine your boat handling skills, tactics, and understanding of the rules.
Sailors are expected to have solid sailing skills and must supply their own dry suits. Students may use their own boats or charter one of ours.

HIGH SCHOOL RACING (14-18Y)
Join the best team in the Midwest. The teams are dedicated to training the next generation of High School sailors at Lake Forest. The teams will be
traveling to weekend regattas across the Midwest. There are limited events for 8th graders and incomplete high school teams. Dry suits are required.

TACTICS, STRATEGY, & FITNESS (8-18Y)
LFS race team members - join us for a preseason classroom session and fitness training! Optimist sailors will have the classroom Tuesdays from 4:30 pm
until fitness begins at 5:30 pm. High School Sailors will have their lessons on Thursdays before fitness. All sailors will join in for Fitness training Tuesdays
and Thursdays from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm.
