WINTER-SPRING 2017-2018 CLASS SCHEDULE • CLASSES JAN 21 - APR 20, 2018 FOR ALL CITADEL CLASSES: Location: Dates: Rehearsals: Skills-Based Classes: Studio 4 or 5, Lake Forest Recreation Center Production-Based Classes: CROYA, Lake Forest Recreation Center January 21 - April 20, 2018 Tech rehearsal & dress rehearsal dates/times will be announced in class SKILLS-BASED CLASSES: BROADWAY BREAKOUT (GRADES 1-4) Kids will experience the fundamentals of performing in a musical production. This class includes singing, dancing, and acting using songs from BROADWAY shows (i.e. Annie, Oliver, The Wiz, Hairspray, Sound of Music, etc.). The lessons will focus on the importance of working as an ensemble performer, as well as developing confidence as a soloist. There will be emphasis on support, collaboration, choreography, character development and vocal delivery. Time: Fee: Sundays, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm $350 PRIMARY PLAYERS (GRADES 1-4) Do you like dressing up and creating your own plays? This is a class created collectively between the instructors and the students. The classes will begin with basic acting activities, and games, but will also include the students’ imagination and ideas. The instructors will help form the students’ character and story choices into scenes, and short plays that will be performed at the end of the season. Time: Fee: Sundays, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm $350 Citadel Theatre Education FROM SHAKES TO SCREEN (GRADES 5-8) This NEW core acting class will explore everything from Shakespeare to popular TV dialogue. If you want to develop the key skills needed to get confident in all types of script delivery, this is the class to do it. Every Sunday will introduce new material, selected according to the energy of the class. A final showcase will display versatility of every actor in the group. Time: Fee: Sundays, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm $325 NEW! PRODUCTION-BASED CLASSES: COMEDY CREW - IMPROV TROUPE (GRADES 5-8 AND GRADES 9-12) Have you ever wanted to be as funny as the IMPRACTICAL JOKERS?! This improv troupe will meet weekly to explore games and create sketches that will be presented as hilarious performances every third Friday night through the season. Come join to release any anxiety, or self-consciousness, and get ready to laugh! Times: Fee: Notes: Grades 5-8: Thursdays, 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm Grades 9-12: Thursdays, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm $395 Class performs every third Friday night at CROYA from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. PROSPECT HIGH: BROOKLYN (GRADES 9-12) MATURE CONTENT Co-written by real NYC students, this is a full-length production for a serious cast that wants an opportunity they won’t get in school.
