Lake Forest on the Go!
Summer means...Lake Forest on the GO! At the beach,
the Festival and Fireworks, Deerpath Golf Course, or all
over town…there’s so much to do and celebrate!
Forest Park Beach is the place to enjoy activities such
as swimming, sailing, paddle boarding, volleyball, and
much more. Full concession services with beer and
wine sales will be offered this summer. Activities such
as Concerts at the Beach, Retro Game Nights, Karaoke,
Movie at the Beach, and Open Mic Nites will fill your
evenings with great memories. The Boating Center with
paddle board and kayak rentals offer daytime on the
water experiences for those eight years old and over.
Daytime activities include yoga and Zumba classes,
crafts for kids with the staff, U.S. Junior Olympic Sailing
Festival, Fun at the Beach classes, story time, and more.

fun-filled, sun drenched days and glorious evenings. We look forward to seeing
you there!
Summer at the Beach!
In May of 2018, the City will be kicking off the GoLakeForest campaign, in
partnership with GoLakeCounty. This campaign is a challenge to all residents to
participate in 30 minutes of movement each day. Whether you enjoy walking,
biking, swimming, dancing, tennis, yoga, or any other activity, make it a regular part
of your day. Add a walk after dinner or go to one of our spectacular playgrounds
and enjoy family time. Motivate to move, move, and move. We will be hosting a
kick-off event in May with additional activities throughout the year. Look for more
information to come!
Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation sponsor our fabulous
Festival and Fireworks each July 4th. Their biggest fundraiser provides a fun,
family experience with music, food, games, and the best fireworks display to be
found! This year will be no different and we are thrilled to announce that the bands
97Nine and Hairball will be performing at the Festival.

Improvements at our beloved Deerpath Golf Course are well underway. During
2017, upgrades were made to the patio, clubhouse, drainage, and continuous
cart paths were added. The next steps include raising funds for a halfway house/
comfort station, driving range expansion, short game practice area, and a new
cart barn. A very generous gift has started our fundraising campaign off in the
right direction, and the committee would like to keep this momentum going.
Opportunities to donate to this beautiful amenity will continue until December
31, 2020. Information can be found at FriendsLFPR.org, Deerpathgolf.com,
cityoflakeforest.com, at the Recreation Center, or by calling 847.810.3942.
