Hip Hop
HIP HOP ( 6Y +): Hip-Hop class teaches such movement styles as popping , locking , breakdancing , freestyle , and other dance forms associated with the popular music and performance artists of today . Class will consist of a warm-up , technical exercises to increase strength and isolation , and choreographed combinations to improve style and performance quality . Intertwined into each class is the study of hip-hop history , musicality , and the family values of what is the true hip-hop culture . Beginning Hip Hop is recommended for new and previous students enrolled in Intro and HH 1 . Int / Adv Hip Hop is recommended for LFDA students previously enrolled in HH 4 and 5 . Open Level Hip Hop is recommended for the teen dancer ages 12-16 who are looking to start or brush up on their skills .
HIP HOP FOR BOYS ( 8-12Y ): This class is designed for boys only . It will emphasize athleticism , rhythm , body awareness , and fun ! Some basic break dancing moves will also be incorporated . Learn the newest moves from Mr . Rich !

Irish Dance
AUGUST WORKSHOPS : Dancers who register for summer classes are eligible to dance in the August workshop taught by Tim O ’ Hare ( founder of the O ’ Hare School of Irish Dance and two-time World Champion ), Michael Belvitch , and Veronica Lilja . Learn new steps and improve your dancing before fall ! Dates TBA .
INTRO TO IRISH DANCE ( 4Y +): This class is offered to first time students ages 4 +. Students will learn basic technique and beginner dances such as the Irish Jig !
IRISH STEP DANCE ADVANCED BEGINNER ( 7Y +): This class is offered to dancers who have at least 1-2 years of experience with Irish dance . Students will work on their 3 soft shoe dances and prepare to learn hard shoe !
IRISH STEP DANCE NOVICE ( 10-18Y ): This class is offered to students with at least 3-5 years of experience and competing at the Novice level . Dancers in this class know both soft shoe and hard shoe dances and are focused on competing .
IRISH STEP DANCE OPEN + ( 10-18Y ): This class is offered to students with over 5 years of experience who compete at the Open , PC , or Championship level . Dancers in this class are focused on competing .
