FAMILY FUN CAMPOUT ( ALL AGES )
SATURDAY , SEPTEMBER 29 - SUNDAY , SEPTEMBER 30
Bring the family down to Forest Park Beach for a night of camping . Pitch a tent and get ready for an evening of family fun ! The Wildlife Discovery Staff will host a reptile show and local astronomers will teach participants how to use telescopes ( provided ) to observe the night sky . Watch a movie in the pavilion or just enjoy the campfire ! Saturday night and Sunday morning meals will be provided . This is the only night of the year that camping is allowed on the Lake Forest Beach so , don ’ t miss out on this unique family bonding experience !

CROCTOBERFEST ( ALL AGES )
SUNDAY , OCTOBER 21
Come celebrate the world of crocodilians with us ! A portion of the proceeds from this WDC fundraiser helps support crocodile conservation projects worldwide . Knowledgeable members of the Chicago Herpetological Society will give short talks about crocodiles and their kin , including some of our very own residents . Jim Nesci and his world-famous American alligator , ‘ Bubba ,’ will pay a visit from 10 - 12 . Come see the skull of a 24-foot saltwater crocodile , today ’ s largest living terrestrial predator ! There will be fun for the whole family !
