Irish Dance Academy Classes
LFDA is proud to offer classes through the O'Hare School of Irish Dance. From beginner to advanced,
students are instructed in a nurturing, caring environment. Our choreography focuses on form and technique
as well as stamina. Dancers who have been dancing for at least one year will learn more difficult dances and
can begin competing!
BEGINNER 1: Irish Step Dance Advanced beginner is offered to first time students ages 4-6! Dancers will learn basic technique and
form and will work towards mastering the traditional Irish Jig.
BEGINNER 2: Irish Beginner 2 is offered to students who have at least one year of experience OR first time students who are ages
7+. Dancers will learn at a faster pace and will work toward mastering all 3 soft shoe dances - the Jig, Reel, and Slip Jig.
NOVICE: Novice is offered to students who are dancing in both soft and hard shoes. Dancers will focus on mastering hard shoe and
will compete at Feises more often.
ADVANCED: Advanced is offered to students who have been taking Irish dance for over 5 years and frequently compete at Feises.
NOVICE COMPETITION: This class is offered in conjunction with the Wednesday 4:00 pm Novice class.
PC/CHAMP PREP: This class is offered in conjunction with the Wednesday 5:00 pm Advanced class. Dancers in the class are training
for the Oireachtas.
PRIZEWINNER PREP: Prizewinner prep is offered in conjunction with the Wednesday 5:00 pm Advanced class. Dancers in the class
are striving to compete all of their dances at the Prizewinner Level.
