Lake Forest offers instruction to sailors with physical
disabilities. 15 hours of instruction (six 2.5 hour lessons) are
available for $100. Lessons are scheduled by appointment
by calling the sailing office at 847.810.3666. Adaptive
lessons end September 15.
SUNSET CRUISES
Sit back and relax as you cruise along the beautiful Lake Forest shoreline,
watching the sunset. Pack a basket of your favorite hors d’oeuvres and wine to
enjoy as you sail. Sunset cruises are available until September 15.

PRIVATE/GROUP/CORPORATE LESSONS
Do you want to learn how to sail but can’t commit to such a full course load because
of your busy schedule? Will you have friends or relatives in town and would like
to take a lesson or two with them? This is the class for you! Simply give us a call
and pick the date. This class can be anything that you want it to be. Brush up on
what you already know, start on the basics, learn advanced sail trim, work on your
spinnaker trimming. Anything goes! Lessons available by appointment. Call the

OUR INSTRUCTORS
Scott Norman
spent his youth
competitively sailing
in Iowa and Florida.
He began instructing
in 1993 while he
was Team Captain
for the University of South Florida.
Scott serves as Director of Coaching
and Head Coach for the U.S. Optimist
National Team and Development Team.
He helped create the U.S. National
Team in 1995 and has been a driving
force of the U.S. Optimist Team’s
success ever since. Scott is excited for
the 2018 fall programs!
Will Howard grew
up learning to sail in
the LFHS programs.
He went on to race
Optis, Lasers and,
420s around the
country. During high
school, Will competed in over ten
national championships. He sailed on
the U.S. Coast Guard Academy sailing
team and continues to race J70s and
Melges 24s. Sharing the lessons he
has learned with the youth of the Lake
Forest Community is Will's passion and
he is excited for a great fall of 2018.
ADAPTIVE SAILING
HALLOWEEN SPECTACULAR REGATTA (ALL AGES)
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27 - SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28
The annual Halloween Spectacular regatta hosts youth sailors from all over the Midwest. Optimists, Green Fleet, Open 420, and High School
divisions compete both on the water and on shore. The racing is competitive and so is the pumpkin carving and costume contest! Even if you
are not a sailor, this is still a great event to come spectate, and see what competitive youth sailing is all about. Please contact Will Howard for
