Enrichment
Our enrichment programme runs every Wednesday afternoon and includes ‘clubs and societies’; with
students able to take part in a range of activities. In the past these have included; various sporting
pursuits, fast-track gold D of E, outdoor education, Young Enterprise, magazine club, art club, music
club, boardgames, introductory Mandarin and World film, Latin and a debating society. Students
can voluntarily explore their preferred career pathway through our work experience programme,
arranged flexibly around other timetable commitments.
Service
A great advantage of joining a school-based sixth form is that you get the opportunity to take on
posts of responsibility within the school. Every sixth former is asked to undertake some service
where they can help the learning of younger students, support the school in other ways or even
volunteer within the wider community. Fundraising for charities is seen as one important aspect and
the success of events such as Children in Need and Comic Relief is due in large part to the energy of
the sixth form students. These activities are excellent for personal development and they also look
impressive on curricula vitae and UCAS application forms!
