“Prior to coming to LADD I lived with my parents. I wanted to learn to live
on my own, I liked the training and the classes. People love me and I love
them too. They help me out and I help them out.
I love LADD People, together we have had lots of adventures.”
Edwina Schmid

Has received services from LADD for 36 years
"Prior to living at Victory Parkway I lived in an institution. I was very young. It’s
hard, and painful to talk about—being put away like that. I heard about Victory Parkway and decided to give it a try.
I stayed at LADD because I liked it. They taught me a lot of stuff: how to
cook in the house, how to set the table, how to wash my own clothes and to
budget my own money. I graduated to my own apartment in 1989."
Phyllis Thomas

“It is amazing that after 35 years my work at LADD remains so challenging
and inspiring. The work is always evolving and individualized, so you never
get complacent. And seeing someone achieve their goals never gets old!”
Phyllis Breen
Former LADD Board Member, LADD Advisory Board Member
LADD donor for 30 Consecutive Years
“As a mother of two children with Cerebral Palsy, I feel this organization
has always been proactive, always doing something new and innovative.”
