ABOUT PUBLIC WORKS
& SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
Stewarding the region’s
essential services.
Public Works is responsible for the
day-to-day administration, supervision
and maintenance of infrastructure,
including County-owned roads, water
distribution, and wastewater treatment
facilities. In order to carry out its tasks,
the department maintains a fleet of
equipment and vehicles. Staff maintain
the transportation network through
road repairs, cold mix overlays,
cold-mix patching, graveling, dust
suppression, hydro axing, mowing,
and winter maintenance/snow plowing.
The Solid Waste Management
department is responsible for
processing recyclables, organics and
garbage generated within the County
via its waste management facilities.
It also provides assistance and
education to residents and businesses
within the region to achieve proper
waste separation and diversion.
COUNTY ROAD BANS
& RESTRICTIONS
Heading out with a heavy load?
Check the latest road restrictions and
bans at LSAC.ca/Road-Bans. When
necessary, the County implements
road bans on oiled and chip seal
coat roads, including residential
subdivisions. Signs indicating
the allowed axle percentages are
posted, and the ban is enforced by
Enforcement Services.
REDUCING THE IMPACT
OF DUST ON
RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES
The purpose of the Calcium Dust
Suppression Program is to assist in
the reduction of the impact of dust on
residential rural properties adjacent to
our County roadways. If you would like
to participate in this 50/50 cost-shared
program, the application deadline is
April 15th of each year.
GET YOUR
SNOWPLOW FLAGS
Residents can have their driveway
snow cleared during winter months
by purchasing snowplow flags. Under
the seasonal snowplowing program,
all property owners within Lac Ste.
Anne County may request help from
the County to clear snow from their
private driveways.
You must purchase a snowplow flag
in advance from one of the locations
listed on LSAC.ca/Snowplow-Flags.
The cost is $25 per flag, per clearing,
and covers snowplowing from the
County road to your residence only.
A single flag is to be used each time
you request removal. For snowplowing
services with no flag (call-in), the cost
will be $40. Pre-payment is required.
After a major snowstorm, opening
of roads takes approximately three
days, so driveway plowing will not
normally occur until the fourth day or
later. Alternate arrangements should
be made if you require your driveway
plowed sooner.
TRANSFER STATION
SITES & MAIN LANDFILL
Lac Ste. Anne County has eight
Transfer Station sites and one Main
Landfill. Each location includes
recycling facilities. County residents
must show identification, in addition
to their Transfer Station Card, when
dropping off residential waste.
All furniture with springs are subject
to a tippage surcharge. Examples of
items include (but are not limited to):
sofas, lazyboy chairs, box springs and
mattresses. The surcharge revenue is
used each year to rent a shredder for
these items, thus reducing the amount
of space being taken up at the Landfill.
TRANSFER STATION
DISPOSAL PERMIT
In addition to a valid, government-
issued piece of photo identification,
all Lac Ste. Anne County residents
must present their Transfer Station
Disposal Permit to the Site Attendant.
Applications for a Transfer Station
Disposal Permit are available through
the County office.
If you rent property in Lac Ste. Anne
County and would like a Transfer
Station Disposal Permit and/or a
Transfer Station Card, your landlord
will need to complete the Application
Form on your behalf.
Those residents without a Transfer
Station Disposal Permit must take
their waste to the Main Landfill site,
and pay $57.50/tonne.
