If you are interested in being nominated as a candidate for the election, please go on the County website at LSAC.ca or on the Alberta Municipal Affairs website at www.municipalaffairs.gov.ab.ca/ mc_elections. You can also contact the County office for more information. In accordance with the changes to the Local Authorities Election Act, Lac Ste. Anne County will be maintaining a registry of individuals that intend to be candidates in future elections on or after January 1, 2014. If someone intends to run in Lac Ste. Anne County elections, and intends to begin raising funds and receive donations for that purpose, they must be registered with the Municipality under Section 147.21 of the Act, before accepting campaign contributions. Proof of Elector Eligibility requires voter identification for local authority elections where a list of electors is not prepared. Lac Ste. Acceptable forms of identification include government issued picture ID, showing the elector’s name and current address, or two pieces of identification (one piece must identify the elector’s name and one piece must establish the elector’s current address): •  Bank/credit card statement or personal cheque; •  Correspondence issued by a school, college or university; •  Government cheque or cheque stub; •  Income/property tax assessment notice; •  Insurance policy or coverage card; •  Letter from a pubic curator, public guardian or public trustee; •  Pension Plan statement of benefits, contribution or participation; •  Residential lease or mortgage statement; •  Statement of government benefits: employment insurance, old-age security, social assistance, disability support or child tax benefit; •  Utility bill: telephone, public utilities commission, television, electricity, gas or water; •  Vehicle ownership, registration or insurance certificate; or •  A letter or form (attestation) confirming that the person lives at the stated address — examples of such are available on the County website. You will still have to sign the Statement of Elector Eligibility as well as provide identification. For additional information on the 2017 Election, please visit Lac Ste.
