LSAC ACTIVITY REPORT | County Progress 2016/17
Per the Local Authorities Election Act, Section 11,
a general election is to be held the third Monday in
October. The 2017 Election will be held on Monday,
October 16, 2017. Nomination Day is four weeks
prior to Election Day, on September 18, 2017.
NOMINATION DAY
• Nomination papers are only received by the
Returning Officer between 10:00am and 12:00pm
(noon) on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the
County Administration Office.
• Fully completed nomination forms may be
handed in by any person (cannot be faxed).
• Official Agent form to be filed with
nomination form.
• The nomination paper requires the completion of
an affidavit by the nominee stating that he/she is
eligible to be a candidate in the election.

• A monetary deposit in the amount of $50.00 must
accompany the nomination form (cash, certified
cheque, bank draft or money order).
• Nomination forms may be examined by any
elector during regular business hours and in the
presence of the Returning Officer after 12:00pm
on nomination day only.
• Audited statements of campaign contributions
and expenses are not required.
ADVANCE VOTE
Advance Votes will be held on Friday, October 6,
2017 in Sangudo, Alberta, from 1:00pm to 7:00pm,
and on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in Gunn,
Alberta, from 1:00pm to 7:00pm.
ELECTION DAY
Every voting station shall open promptly at 9:00am
and will remain open until 8:00pm.
