Anne County is happy to invite residents on a farm-focused tour. The Alternative Land Use Services (ALUS) program has been running in Lac Ste. Anne County since 2015 and helps farmers carry out environmental projects on private land. On Monday August 12, 2019, the tour will begin at Lac Ste. Anne County Administrative Building (56521 Range Road 65) at 9am. The tour will include a stop at Anthem Hills Family Farm who is part of a Community Shared Agriculture (CSA) program and cur- rent ALUS participant. With the help of ALUS program, these farmers have fenced off 45 acres of wetland and forested area to protect it from cattle. Another stop will be at TOWAW Cattle, a leading producer in quality beef genetics who just celebrated their 40th annual bull sale. At this stop we will learn about pasture pipeline watering systems and swath grazing.
