Congratulations to all of the following winners of the Le- gion Literary and Poster Contest: Kaylie Seinen – Jr. Essay, NATIONAL 1st PLACE; Brooklynn Cust – Jr. Essay and Jr. Poster, District 2nd place; Caylie Forrest – Jr. Poster, Zone 2nd place; Keifer Owen – Jr. Colour Poster, District 2nd place; Cole Buyers – Intermediate Poster, District 1st place; L. Kormos – B&W Junior Poster, District 2nd place; Brianna Carter – Intermediate Poster, District 1st place; Ceinan Boileau – B&W Inter- mediate Poster, District 2nd place and Mikailie Kootenay – Senior Poster, Zone 1st place. Kaylie’s outstanding essay can be found in this issue of the Bulletin along with pictures from the ceremonies including award presenters Ted Latimer, Scott Sadler, Cheryl Sadler, Louise Bam- brick and Jay Krause. Plans for the new ramp along with relocation and updat- ing the Cenotaph were unanimously accepted at the spe- cial General meeting on July 4th. This means we should have the desired ramp improvements completed by mid- August with the Cenotaph re-installed in September. Submitted by Larry Villneff: “Our next “8-Ball singles round robin Fun Tournament” is set for Saturday July 22nd with registration beginning at 8:30 AM and play ending no later than 5:00 PM. 75% of registration fees will be allotted to first through fifth place finishers. The Onoway Legion now has three permanent 4x8 pool ta- bles, thereby increasing the play time for all participants throughout the day. Ham and Eggers will be sold until 11:00 AM with a light lunch available from 12:00 through to 3:00 PM and refreshments served from the bar. Please direct inquiries to Larry Villneff @ 780-967- 0607 or” Scott Sadler and his crew of Cheryl S., Louise B., George J., Sue R., Shannon R. and Barry R. were busy in the 2013 Onoway & District Chamber of Commerce Business Of The Year kitchen on June 30th preparing salads, barbe- quing burgers/hotdogs for hungry customers as well as doing cleanup, dishes, the draws and handling the bar. Thank you to the volunteers for their hard work providing an enjoy- able meal for the Friday Night Supper. Marian Laberge won the free meal voucher, Barry Robertson the meat draw and Douglas O’Connor happily pocketed his 50/50 winnings.
