Before Christmas, I had mentioned that I was helping with the Lions Christmas hampers. I am so glad I did that. What a good feeling to be helping others. For such a huge project it was very well organized. I received this write-up about the Christmas hampers: The Al- berta Beach Lions and many helpers were out on Saturday, De- cember 16, assembling and delivering Christmas hampers. 72 hampers and toys for the children were delivered to ensure a bright Christmas for all involved. Everyone had a wonderful 2013 Onoway & District Chamber of Commerce Business Of The Year day and we wish to thank everyone that collected food and toys over the past few weeks and many that made generous dona- tions. It is with this community support that we are able to help many people have a great Christmas. Lion President Marvin and his wife Marlene sent out a Christ- mas news letter to members and friends of the Alberta Beach & District Lions Club. It said “Time to reflect on what you have given as a Lion. 24 Meat Draws our best fund raiser Hundreds of hrs. for SnoMo Days which raises over $20,000 for community groups and much more in econ- omy to the community Raffle tickets Christmas Hampers Poly days - Beef on the Bun - 50/50 tickets - Parade float Beach Wave Park Gazebo Park Light up Eye Glasses School - Finger Printing - Flags - Peace Poster Scooter Program Continued on page 3
