4.2.3.5 Non-Malaysian Employees : Facilities and Benefits
For employers with expatriate / PR employees , more than half provided medical benefits in 2015 , followed by accommodation and utilities ( 28 %) and transportation ( 21 %). Sports , recreation and childcare were the facilities / benefits provided by the least number of employers to their non- Malaysian employees .
In terms of expenditure , a significant proportion of the total cost of facilities and benefits for expatriate and PR employees was for accommodation and utilities ( 91 %).
Among the foreign workers , half of their employers provided medical benefits , 40 % offered accommodation and utilities , and 30 % provided uniform / protective clothing / security equipment . Similarly , sports , recreation and childcare were also the facilities / benefits provided by the least number of employers .
Around 70 % of the total facilities and benefits ’ expenditure for these foreign workers were for accommodation , utilities and transportation . This was followed by 20 % for meals and medical .
