Average basic monthly wage of expatriate / PR employees in large establishments was RM16,600,
about 30% higher than the national average. Among the foreign workers, average monthly wage
across all establishment sizes was consistent at around RM1,100.

Geographically, expatriate / PR employees from the Central region was paid the highest basic
monthly wage of about RM15,600, followed by those in the Northern region. Similarly, foreign
workers in the Central region was paid the highest average monthly wage of about RM1,300
compared to about RM1,100 in other regions.
