Those working in large establishments received higher payment, which was around 10% above
the overall average. Foreign workers in professional and craft / related trade job categories
received the highest bonus of about RM2,000.
Note: The calculation for the above average bonus payment per employee is based on the
assumption that all full-time employees in the establishments which offered bonus received the
payment.

3.3.6 Cost of Facilities and Benefits
Medical and training were the most common benefits provided by employers in 2015 to full-time
Malaysian employees, while medical and transportation were the items where employers spent
the most on (54% of total annual cost for facilities and benefits). Employers in the mining and
quarrying sector spent significantly higher per full-time employee on transportation, meals and
medical benefits compared to the other sectors.
As for establishments with expatriate / PR employees, more than half provided medical benefits,
followed by accommodation, utilities, and transportation. A high percentage (91%) of the total
