In terms of establishment size, medium and large establishments represented one-third of all
respondents across both the manufacturing sector as well as services and other sectors. There is
a higher representation of medium and large establishments in this survey compared to the
samples (less than 20%).

Employees’ Profile
A total of 59,653 full-time employees was observed in this analysis, comprising 92% Malaysians,
7% foreign workers and 1% expatriate / PR employees.
Half of these full-time employees worked in clerical support and elementary occupations, while
26% in managerial, professional and associate professional categories. Compared to the total
employed persons in Malaysia based on Labour Force Survey 2015, there is equal representation
of employees in the skilled job categories. However, clerical and low-skilled employees are over-
represented.
