New Fellows in Environmental and Bioinformatics Public Health

APHL is pleased to announce two new Environmental Public Health Laboratory Fellows will begin their assignments this summer at the California Department of Public Health and the South Dakota Department of Health . The fellow at the California lab will establish screening methods for all 500 compounds and quantitative analyses for the more prominent compounds on the California Designated Chemical List . The fellow placed in South Dakota will conduct microbiological , radiological and chemical testing of human clinical specimens and environmental samples to begin establishing a biomonitoring program in that state .
Six new Bioinformatics in Public Health Laboratory Fellows also will begin their assignments this summer . These master ’ s- and doctoral-level fellows will apply their skills to a range of emerging public health problems in laboratories at the Minnesota Department of Health and CDC .
