In designing this collection , I was inspired by the intricate and intense planning that goes into creating a Japanese garden . Every element of the garden has a purpose , and every detail is contemplated . Attention to detail is key , and the beauty is in the details . Likewise for my designs , every
MANY OF OUR READERS ARE INTERESTED IN WORKING IN DESIGN IN SOME CAPACITY . DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE TO SHARE AS THEY PURSUE THEIR DREAMS ? Design is an amazing field to be in . I love designing every new collection . My previous career was not in the design field , so I came to it later in my life . One of my challenges has been trying to find a happy balance between family and work , and I think being in design and running my own business affords me the flexibility of being able to do so . This goes to show that it doesn ’ t matter how or when you turn to design , but that you decide to pursue your dreams and do so . In the long run , what matters is how you spent the time and that you enjoyed it . button , zip and seam is thoughtfully placed , and every design feature on the clothing is carefully considered . I combined classic knit patterns with floral and nature inspired cotton fabrics to design flowing summer dresses and skirts , as well as playful outfits for both boys and girls . This collection includes “ couture ” requests from my daughters , which include the drop waist floral Christy dress ( Eden ’ s request ), the twirl-worthy Gisele dress ( Zoe ’ s idea ) and the multi-layered Cara tutu skirt ( Elise ’ s favorite ).

There were so many uncertainties , and many things I had to learn and work out at the start , so I would have loved to have known that I was making a good decision !

I found it hard to find quality knitwear in styles that I / my girls liked , so I decided to
