LA GUCCI STYLES VOL. 19 | Page 57

MARINATED STEAK INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 lbs flank steak (sub skirt or flatiron steak)

6 tablespoons low-sodium tamari (sub soy sauce)

6 tablespoons lime juice (approximately 3-4 limes)

3 tablespoons coconut sugar 5 cloves garlic, peeled and roughly chopped

1 teaspoon coconut oil (sub butter)

INGREDIENTS:

1 15 ounce can unsalted black beans, drained and rinsed thoroughly

6 tablespoons cocoa powder

3/4 cup Grade A maple syrup

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/4 cup unsalted almond butter (sub peanut butter, sun-butter or tahini, but note that it will have a different flavor)

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

3 1/2 ounces dark chocolate, roughly chopped into 1/4 inch pieces (recommend 72%)

Optional toppings: coconut flakes, cacao nibs, fresh fruit

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and line a loaf tin with parchment paper, making sure there are at least 5 inches of parchment overflowing on each side.

2. Combine all ingredients except chopped chocolate in a food processor or high speed blender. Puree until completely smooth, scraping down the side as needed.

3. Empty mixture into a mixing bowl and stir in chopped chocolate/chocolate chips. Turn dough into loaf pan and shake gently to create an even layer. At this point, you can trim back some of the parchment but leave an inch or two overhanging.

4. Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with only a tiny bit of batter. Remove from the oven and allow brownies to cool 45 minutes - 1 hour after baking before slicing.
