Joe Dardis Approaches the
Century Mark

If you ask Joe Dardis, age 98 when did he first begin
attending the Columbus Day celebration, he will answer,
“Well, way back! There was a Columbus Day parade downtown in Cleveland, and it seemed to move to Little Italy
in 1924 and has enjoyed festivities and the people here
ever since. Joe enjoys meeting new friends because as he
says, “At my age, I need new friends.” You may even recognize Joe as you attend various events in Little Italy. Joe
turned 99 in November and looks forward to many more
celebrations in Cleveland. Joe sends his best wishes to everyone on Columbus Day. If you’re looking for Joe, he’s
lived on farmland in Chesterland since 1958. We anticipate Joe’s century of experiences next year with great joy.

We would like to thank Vince Pona and Jerry LaCorte
for organizing and tracking the all the requests we received to attend the clambake. In addition we would like
to commend George Judy, our Sargent-at-Arms who kept
order as all our members and their wives and guests came
in and helped distribute the tickets to the attendees. We
had 95 guests this year which was a 15% increase over last
year’s attendance and our largest group for this event.
An event this size is not successful without the help of
Dino’s management staff, the kitchen crew, and the waitresses. Thank you all for making this a great event again.
