t the beginning of Taieb Mhiri Avenue, in the heart of La Marsa, the cultural centre
Agora has opened its doors. It is a new cultural space nestled in a white cube. The
Agora contains a movie theatre, an exhibition room and a literary café.
We meet with Mohamed Ali El Okbi, the initiator of this ambitious project that
promotes an easier access to culture, open to all without distinction. This is precisely
the strong point of the Agora, a door always open, a displayed schedule and a strong
will to promote Tunisian cinema through the retrospectives of fictions, films and
short films and documentaries. But also a gallery and a literary café for exhibitions, conferences, installations
or artistic performances. As a cultural tool, the Agora is a model for other cities to follow, in order to approach
knowledge with pleasure. I

بالتساوي ويدعو إىل الثقافة بطريقة مبسطة ومفتوحة دون متييز. هنا تكمن عىل وجه التحديد نقاط قوة "أغورا" ؛ فضاء
مفتوح عىل الدوام، برمجة علنية ورغبة قويــة فـي تعزيز السينمــا التــونسيــة من خالل عرض األفالم الخيالية القديـــمة
واألفالم الطويلة والقصرية، واألفالم الروائية الوثائقية؛ إضافة إىل فضاء يضم قاعة عرض ومقهى أديب، مخصص للمعارض واملؤمترات
والعروض الفنية. ميثل مركز "أغورا"، بوصفه أداة تثقيفية، منوذجا يجب تطويره والنهوض به والنسج عىل منواله يف مدن أخرى
