L’ascenseur et le grand escalier conduisent vers
les trois premiers étages, tous dédiés aux appartements. Le quatrième et dernier étage renferme quant
à lui les dortoirs des domestiques. Puisque rien n’est
laissé au hasard dans cette somptueuse villa, l’architecte a aménagé le sous-sol pour en faire une salle
de gym et une salle de projection, grande nouveauté
du moment.
Le mobilier et la décoration ont été conservés, à leur
place initiale. Il suffit de considérer le bureau ovale
dans le style empire et dont il n’existe que trois
exemplaires au monde pour en conclure que la Villa
Necchi Campiglio est un chef d’œuvre unique. I

trove and the Villa
Necchi Campiglio
is one of the most
significant jewels
of the Art Deco
style. Built in the
heart of the city between 1932 and 1935 to plans
by architect Piero Portaluppi, the residence of
the Necchi heiresses is a preserved testimony
of the high spheres milanese lifestyle during the
inter-war years. The obvious reason is that the Art Deco villa is entirely meant for luxury and comfort. Impossible
to miss, it stands at the center of a huge park, not far from its tennis court and heated swimming-pool.
The rather sober outside appearance of the Villa Necchi easily deceives visitors who, once inside, are surprised
by the refined beauty of the place. The vast entrance hall gives access to the living areas, including massive
wooden libraries and a veranda overlooking the park. The dining room impresses with its huge marbled walls,
decorated only with medieval tapestries.
The elevator and the main stairway lead to the three first floors, all dedicated to appartments. As for the fourth
and last floor, it contains the servants dormitories. Since nothing’s left to chance in this sumptuous villa, the
