Hamideddine
Bouali
Born and resident in Tunis since 1961, Hamideddine Bouali is a Tunisian photographer who has been active for
over thirty years. During his career, he organizes about ten individual exhibitions and participates in a hundred or
so group exhibitions in Tunisia and abroad.
Host, trainer, member of jurys, training director and teacher, he organized several exhibitions including the two
editions of the Month of Photography in Tunis in 1997 and 2001 and was for 5 years the Vice-President of the
International Photography Encounters in Ghar El Melh. He is the author of numerous articles about photography
published in the columns of Tunisian and foreign newspapers. Besides, he teaches « the photographic technique
and history ». Hamideddine Bouali has founded, in January 2010, the Photo Club of Tunis. Winner of many prizes
including a gold medal at the International Photography Exhibition in Bagdad in 1996, the Incentive Award at the
51st International Photography Fair in Tokyo in 1989, the National Award for Arts and Letters in photography
in 2008. In 2011, he obtains the Grand Prize of the Fonds for Mediterranean Women and in 2012 the Prize «
Lucien Clergue 2012 » sponsored by the Savings Bank Côte d’Azur. Those photographs have been acquired by the
Tunisian State, the collectors and the Photo Museum in Bièvres, France.
