Further Education and Training for 2015 and Beyond

o-ordinators and staff from across
Further Education in KWETB
gathered for a momentous two day
seminar on the 26th and 27th of January.
They were tasked with reviewing existing
courses and programmes and planning
new and amended provisions to meet
the current and future needs of learners,
jobseekers, employers and employees and
to ensure better outcomes for the diverse
range of learners who are at the heart of
KWETB.

Officer on Awards, Programmes and
Certification.
The seminar took place against the
backdrop of the biggest reform in further
education and training in the history of the
State with the amalgamation of VECs, the
establishment of the Education and Training
Boards and of Solas, the widening of the
functions of the ETBs and the transfer of
responsibility for training to the ETBs.

Sean Ashe, Chief Executive opened the
seminar, welcoming staff, speaking about
the changes within the sector, he spoke
about the need to ensure that programmes
and services are responsive to national
and local priorities and the importance
of providing the people of Kildare and
Wicklow with the very highest quality
