The seminar took place against the backdrop of the biggest reform in further education and training in the history of the State with the amalgamation of VECs, the establishment of the Education and Training Boards and of Solas, the widening of the functions of the ETBs and the transfer of responsibility for training to the ETBs. • Angela Doherty and Catherine Greene, Adult Guidance Officers on feedback and insights from Adult Guidance Service Clients. • Niamh Maguire, Adult Literacy Organiser on embedding literacy and numeracy in further education and training to ensure KWETB provision Sean Ashe, Chief Executive opened the seminar, welcoming staff, speaking about the changes within the sector, he spoke about the need to ensure that programmes and services are responsive to national and local priorities and the importance of providing the people of Kildare and Wicklow with the very highest quality February 2015 5
