West Wicklow Centre bids farewell to Una Burke
Catherine Byrne AEO of KWETB presents Una
Burke, BTEI Coordinator for West Wicklow with
flowers to mark her departure to her new role as
VTOS Coordinator in Athy. All in West Wicklow
wish Una all the best in her new role. West
Wicklow’s loss is Athy’s gain!

ABCE Centre, Jigginstown
Pat Bennett was ALO in Naas from 1985 to
her retirement in July 2014 and was involved
with the centre from its beginning in 1982. She
experienced numerous developments in the ABE
service, represented Kildare VEC / KWETB on
many national initiatives and was always true to
the ethos and values of adult education. We wish
her health and happiness in her retirement.

AEO Retires
Des Murtagh was AEO in Kildare
since December 2007 and worked
tirelessly to promote and develop
the Adult Education Service. He
steered the service through the
merger with Wicklow. His expertise
and vision made the process easy
for staff. He developed the website,
promoted the advancement of IT
facilities and was always courteous
and respectful in his communications
with staff and is missed by the Adult
Education Service.
