Ardscoil Rath Iomghain
Ardscoil Rath Iomghain won a pulsating game of
basketball in the All-Ireland Senior A Boys Final on
the 19th January. Having trailed for most of the game
including 52:26 in the third quarter they put on a fantastic
show in the last quarter to take the lead for the first time
with two minutes to go. There was further drama when
St. Eunan’s scored a three pointer to leave Rathangan
trailing by one with thirty seconds to go but they dug
deep again and eventually emerged victorious. It was the
culmination of six years hard work by the team and Ms
Nerney and they were a huge credit to the whole school
and the many supporters who attended.
Score:
Ardscoil Rath Iomghain 70 : St. Eunans 67
