(n:gage): You mention NIIT as having their own models for HR initiatives which stood in good stead against best consultancy firms offerings. Can you site some of their unique processes with examples. Archana: I consider myself exceptionally lucky for having worked in companies both in Public and Private sector which were role models in HR. NIIT had HR in its DNA. The line manager was more an HR manager than a business manager. NIIT was facing a business slow down when I joined in 2004. The business margins were ever so thin that it warranted collating all in-house wisdom for all HR initiatives rather than deploying consultants from outside. NIIT had a School of Education and Employee Development (SEED) which was a residential premises imparting Technical, Non-Technical and Behavioural trainings through bootcamps and class room trainings. All faculty was drawn from NIIT and the trainings were extremely relevant, performance enhancing and growth focused. n:gage | August 2017
