• Making the recognition process simpler and less hierarchical : Having a more approval based recognition system generally fades out over a period of time due to the multiple level of approvals . Recognition process has to be simpler and spontaneous and managers should be empowered to nominate their team members rather than waiting for leaders to approve .

• Seeking feedback from the people : It ’ s an important aspect to get the feel of the people and fine tune your program in line with their expectations . Have a survey once in a year and check with the people on what is the most exciting part of the existing recognition program and what more can be added / eliminated from the program . This also gives a sense of belongingness and people feel more attached to such initiatives .
