Kushe' Magazine Volume II December 2013 | Page 3

W e are pleased to bring you Volume 2 of Kushe’ Magazine. So much has happened over the past months leading up to this issue. I’ve engaged in deep reflection about my next phase in life, how I will continue to grow professionally and personally, and what I want for my family. Through this reflection I realized a few things. Abundance is a gift that should be bestowed on all of mankind. We are extraordinary beings astoundingly capable of living the life that we deserve. Finally, within each of us is a God given talent. You just have to dig deep enough to find the talent, nurture it, and use it to make you a better person and the world a better place. Volume 2 of Kushe’ Magazine brings you the stories of our African sisters and brothers around the world who have owned their talents and shaped the lives of many. Carol Bangura, a bilingual literacy and immigrant student integration expert, established a multicultural academic institution in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania known as the School without Borders. Professor Michael Dillo Sesay asks an important question, why is your life meaningful? Sure everyone can talk about their challenges, but let’s start thinking with the glass half full. What makes your life valuable? Dr. Mohamed Kuda Mansaray shares his professional experience on the topic of psychotherapy. Have you ever thought about seeking help for depression or after the loss of a loved one? Read his article and find out why psychotherapy may be the answer to your problems.
