Kids Corner with Kwaniyah Hey kids! It’s fashion time with Kwaniyah! I’m 11 and I love experimenting with clothes. Today we’re going to talk about picking the right clothes and understanding your sense of style. When picking out clothes remember everyone is different. Just because one style works for someone else does not mean it will work for you. Here are a few more tips to help you along the way: The most important tip is to wear what makes you feel good. Tip 1 Discover your sense of style. Do you really know what you like? Don’t be afraid to try clothes in dark and light colors, long and short, and even different materials. Tip 2 Don’t worry about your true size. Just choose clothing that compliments your shape and your height. Tip 3 Match up outfits. Find colors that go together, blend well, and compliment your complexion. Be creative. Try wearing a stripped belt with a solid color dress, or a polka-dot tie with a collared shirt. Tip 4 Wear the right clothes for the right occasion. Hint: don’t wear jeans to a wedding. Tip 5 Accessorize. Find earrings, belts, bracelets, and necklaces that go with your outfit. Add colors that make your outfit pop. Try a black and white dress with a red or yellow necklace. Or, try green earrings with a purple top. I hope these tips will help you find outfits that express who you are. 29
