CURRICULUM DESIGN AND DOCUMENTATION – FOR NEW EDUCATORS

The National Quality Framework inspires a culture of thinking, doing and assessing early
childhood pedagogy and practice. This course is specifically designed for Early Childhood
Educators new to the field.
This workshop invites participants to consider diverse ways to construct curriculum that is
relevant to the whole community. It encourages educators to be engaged in the process and
to use a reflective lens. Participants will:

Examine core beliefs and values that are embedded in early childhood education $150
Discuss and analyse the planning cycle NQS Area 1
Explore strategies to engage in the planning cycle that are inclusive of observation,
reflection, learning experiences, intentional encounters and analysis of teaching and
learning
This workshop is suitable for early childhood professionals new to the field.
CURRICULUM DESIGN AND DOCUMENTATION – FOR EXPERIENCED
EDUCATORS

The National Quality Framework has contributed to a new culture of thinking, doing and
assessing early childhood pedagogy and practice. This course is specifically designed for
experienced practitioners. This workshop will invite participants to consider what values and
beliefs influence the cultural lens through which they view and appreciate early childhood
pedagogy and practice. During this workshop participants will:
Explore the key components and philosophical foundations that impact the
construction of authentic and innovative curriculum.
Review and design ways to record and document reflective questions, actions and
outcomes that honour children as active protagonists in learning and companions in
inquiry.

Be encouraged to consider how teaching teams can create space for professional
dialogue that promotes a sound understanding of cyclic planning and recognises the
importance of multiple perspectives in designing a living and relevant curriculum.
This workshop is suitable for experienced early childhood professionals .
Completing Curriculum Design and Documentation for Experienced Educators will contribute
3 hours of NESA registered PD addressing 3.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards
for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
