WEBINARS SERIES 2 - DEVELOPING SUPPORTIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH CHILDREN Note: participants must book for the whole series. Cost for the series: $140 Part 1 - Introduction to Relationships with Children This webinar introduces participants to an approach to building supportive relationships with children that is underpinned by an understanding of child development. We will provide an overview of responsive and proactive approaches that sets the scene for the following webinars. 4.30pm – 5.00pm Wednesday 18 July Part 2: Environments to support social and emotional competence Part 2 of the series examines the role of the physical environment in promoting positive social and emotional competence. We will consider the way in which the organisation of the space promotes meaningful engagement and participation. 4.30pm – 5.00pm Wednesday 1 August Part 3: The power of language: the hidden messages we send This webinar examines the language we use with children and the impact that it has on children’s behaviour. In particular, we will focus on the power of words and the use of respectful, considered language in our educational settings. 4.30pm – 5.00pm Wednesday 15 August Part 4: When things go wrong: supporting self-regulation During this final webinar, we will discuss the way in which authentic and secure relationships with children help when things go wrong.
