MARTE MEO PRACTITIONER TRAINING Presented by Secure Beginnings and KU Children ’ s Services
Six day course

This six day training program is designed for those working with children 0-6 years and their families , and is especially relevant to early childhood educators . This learning links to NQF Areas 1 , 5 and 6 . The Early Childhood Marte Meo Training Resource is a six chapter video program developed by Robyn Dolby and Eilish Hughes , in association with Maria Aarts and KU Children ’ s Services . The program presents video examples of children ’ s play and co-operation skills ( the foundation for school readiness ), and the adult elements of supportive communication , including :
Following ( to make connection ); Positive Leading ( leading without losing connection ); Linking ( linking up children to build togetherness ); and
Building Co-operation and Detailed Guidance ( step-by-step to help children learn to co-operate and develop solution models ).
Participants will receive : Small group learning ( 20 participants ) Marte Meo work sheets that give a structure for organising what you learn
Registration with Marte Meo International as a Marte Meo Practitioner ( includes certificate )

This workshop addresses the area of behaviour , based on a philosophy of social and physical environment promoting positive behaviour in children . The approach uses an understanding of child development , and includes preventive , responsive and proactive approaches . It supports the implementation of the KU Guiding Children ’ s Behaviour Practice Guide which participants receive as part of this workshop .
This workshop is suitable for all early childhood professionals .
Completing Guiding Children ’ s Behaviour will contribute 5 hours of NESA registered PD addressing 1.3.2 , 3.5.2 , 4.3.2 and 5.5.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW .
