The National Quality Framework has contributed to a new culture of thinking, doing and
assessing early childhood pedagogy and practice. This course is specifically designed for Early
Childhood Teachers. This course will invite participants to consider what values and beliefs
influence the cultural lens through which we view and appreciate early childhood pedagogy
and practice. What key components and philosophical foundations impact the construction
of authentic and innovative curriculum?
Participants will review and design ways to record and document reflective questions, actions
and outcomes that honour children as active protagonists in learning and companions in
inquiry. The workshop will encourage participants to consider how teaching teams can create
space for professional dialogue that promotes a sound understanding of cyclic planning
and recognises the importance of multiple perspectives in designing a living and relevant
curriculum.
