THE WHY, THE WHAT AND MYTHS OF CH I LDREN’S RIGHTS
The VEYLDF recognises all children as rights holders and full members of society
(VEYLDF p.4). We will examine the why, the what, and the myths of children’s
rights and consider the responsibilities that come with rights. What might
happen when we challenge adults ‘ways of doing’ and empower children?
Presenters will share dilemmas and issues raised and how these were resolved
from a child’s rights perspective and in a collaborative and respectful way.
Completing ‘The Why, The What and Myths of Children’s Rights’ will
contribute 3 hours of PD addressing 7.1.2 from the Australian Professional
Standards for Teachers
