Education for Sustainability EMBEDDING SUSTAINABLE PRACTICE Bronwyn Joslyn and Stephanie Willey – Environmental Education in Early Childhood (EEEC) This interactive workshop aims to discuss education for sustainability and how it can be embedded into daily practices and the learning environment. Information will be presented and shared in an interactive way to ensure participants have real discussions and make real forward plans for their own environments. Participants will be asked to challenge and reflect on ideas of design and what is meant by the term respectful environments for successful curriculum. An effective environment creates places for positive learning, interactions and engagement. National Quality Standards require educators to look at their environments as naturally sustainable places, and to engage in ongoing learning about sustainable strategies that can be used in curriculum with young children.
