KU MARCIA BURGESS FOUNDATION: INCREASING OUR IMPACT
In 2018, KU invested in several new
pilot programs to test and prove the
difference future programs, to be
funded by the Foundation, will be
able to make. One such program
piloted in 2018 was ‘Healthy Start,’
a targeted nutrition initiative that
saw children from KU Macquarie
Fields Preschool and playgroup
trying and eating healthy foods
they had never eaten before.
Participating parents gained the
knowledge and confidence to
provide low cost, healthy meals for
their families at home.
To facilitate a more strategic and
targeted approach to organisational
fundraising and philanthropy, and to
develop the partnerships and systems
that will grow the Foundation into a
sustainable source of revenue, the
decision was taken to appoint a
dedicated manager.
Through the KU Marcia Burgess
Foundation, KU is expanding the
wonderful work we already do in this
space. We look forward to sharing
more about the corporate partners,
generous donors and philanthropists,
and other foundations with whom
we are partnering, as well as the
innovative and potentially life
changing programs we develop and
implement together.
