Moving from STEM to
STEAM
Beyond Twinkle,
Twinkle Little Star
At the early learning
age, it is critical that
as educators we lay
foundations and
pathways in the brain
to boost creative
thinking. By using
effective activities with
music, beyond singing,
we can promote a
child’s creativity and
stimulate curiosity. By
using well-sequenced
music experiences, we
can demonstrate how
thinking creatively
can add a unique
dimension to our
thought processes.
As educators we are often
confident in working
within an ARTS frame
in our classrooms – we
have easles and paint
and activities for dramatic
play, music and drama.
However, when we
consider STEM, finding the
arts in this space can be
difficult.
This workshop looks at
practical activities to
integrate the ARTS in
Science, Technology,
Engineering and
Mathematics. Come
ready to paint and dance,
to have a quick taste of
STEAM.
